Challenge

An international services company was completely replacing its existing strategic business systems. But it needed to provide continuous access to constantly changing industry-specific rate information and up-to-the-minute availability of its employee resources.

This self-insured company also needed to maintain flexibility in determining employee benefits. Changes in eligibility for hundreds of thousands of employees had to be made each month. A final requirement called for the integration of those features into a system that was concurrently under construction.

Stratagem’s Solution

Stratagem met with the company’s subject matter experts to define and prioritize design features and to develop views and reports on current rate information and employee resource availability.

Stratagem’s consultants documented the existing processes and worked interactively with the client’s personnel, creating and implementing improvements along the way. They established development standards for consistency in GUIs, reports, and back-end interfaces to accounting systems.

Stratagem consultants then identified and implemented scheduler software to streamline the processes used to track employee benefit eligibility. Working with Stratagem’s training consultants, the client participated in preparing end-user training and usability testing. Stratagem and the client completed a project plan to monitor integration and delivery of custom work and end-user training.

Result

This very satisfied client is now able, whenever it chooses, to view and report on critical decision-making information that had not previously been available. Departmental processes are improved and streamlined. The time-consuming benefits eligibility process has been completely automated and is therefore more accurate in achieving the project’s goals.

The timely completion of the tasks also supports the efforts of the development team. It meant that the team could continue with future development on schedule.
